NEO Humanoid Robots Are Banging on Doors
+ Tesla’s Robotaxi Hits Hollywood 🚗

NEO humanoid robots are set to bring advanced robotics into your home (not sure if I’m quite ready for that honestly), while Tesla prepares to unveil its highly anticipated Robotaxi in Hollywood…
In this edition we’ll cover…
New humanoid robots from 1X
Creators building fully functioning apps with Cursor
Tesla’s plans to get Robotaxi out the door
Best Buy turning to AI for a more personalized customer experience
And much more…
Let’s get into it!
The Future of Home Robotics is Knocking at Your Door with 1X's NEO
Robotics company 1X just unveiled NEO, a bipedal humanoid robot designed for home use.
NEO is designed to be an everyday assistant. Unlike many robots confined to industrial or commercial applications, this humanoid robot is specifically built to operate within a home environment.
The robot stands 5.41 feet tall, weighs 66 pounds, and has a walking speed of 2.5 miles per hour and a running speed of 7.5 miles per hour. It can carry up to 44 pounds and has a runtime of 2-4 hours.
1X aims to begin mass production by 2025, and CEO Bernt Bornich is highly optimistic about bringing robots into the home, looking to beat Tesla to the punch.
So What?
The upcoming release of NEO signals that robotics in the home may become a reality very very soon. As these robots enter our homes, they promise to enhance our lives by taking on tasks, providing assistance, and even offering companionship. Although we are still in the early stages, the success of 1X’s impending pilot programs could determine how quickly these advanced robots become a staple in households worldwide…

In <8 min I built a basic Airbnb app using Cursor.
I use Cursor Projects to scaffold out snippets that I can use anytime I need new features.
Stop overthinking it and let the AI work for you.
This is next level building.

Mckay Wrigley (@mckaywrigley on X) build a basic Airbnb clone in about 8 minutes, fully powered by Cursor. I highlighted Cursor in our last edition, and this demo shows a great way to apply it to accelerate development workflows.
Wrigley does an awesome job here highlighting a new feature called Cursor Projects, which allows you to create templates out of reusable code.
Tesla Plans to Unveil “Robotaxi” at California’s Warner Bros. Studio
Tesla plans to reveal its long-awaited Robotaxi on October 10 at Warner Bros. Discovery’s studio in Burbank, California. This event will showcase Tesla’s focus on autonomy and AI, which could indicate a significant shift from its traditional EV business.
Robotaxi is a big bet on Tesla’s full self driving and autonomous capabilities; this is supposed to be a vehicle exclusively designed for that.
The event was delayed from August due to design changes requested by Elon Musk.
So What?
Elon Musk emphasizes that Tesla’s future relies more on artificial intelligence and robotics than on selling cars, with self-driving “Robotaxis” as a key element of this vision. Who knows, maybe soon, people will finally be able to rent out their autonomous Teslas and make some money…
