The Latest in AI
Blocked by the U.S.? Huawei’s Building a Workaround Empire
Despite U.S. sanctions tightening the screws, Huawei isn’t slowing down.
The company is prepping its next move with the Ascend 910D, a new AI chip designed to go toe-to-toe with NVIDIA’s powerful H100, even as supply chain restrictions stack higher.
Here’s what’s happening:
Huawei expects the first samples of the Ascend 910D to roll out by late May. It’s packed with packaging tech that stitches multiple silicon dies together for a performance boost, but it’s also more power-hungry than NVIDIA’s H100.
Cut off from TSMC and the latest chip-making tools, Huawei is doubling down on new system designs instead of chasing smaller chips.
Beijing’s push for self-sufficiency means major Chinese data centers and tech firms (like TikTok’s parent ByteDance) are snapping up Huawei’s Ascend chips, despite some admitted performance gaps compared to NVIDIA’s H100.
While Huawei’s ambition is clear, actually mass-producing high-end chips without top-tier equipment remains a massive hurdle. Creative engineering may help bridge the gap for now.
So What?
Huawei’s not trying to beat NVIDIA with a single knockout chip, it’s building workarounds.
By scaling horizontally (packing more chips together) and improving overall system design, Huawei is showing that sheer force (and state backing) can still keep China in the AI hardware race.
With the 910D launch looming, Huawei’s strategy isn’t just survival, it’s staying dangerous.

How to Build Full Stack Apps with Replit Agent
Honestly I forgot Replit was this good…
To set some context, Replit Agent is an AI assistant that codes, sets up, and even ships products with natural language.
If GitHub Copilot is a helpful co-pilot, Replit Agent might be your full project team.
Here’s how you can build full stack apps with Replit Agent:
Go to Replit and create an account.
Once inside the IDE, hit the “Replit Agent” button on the dashboard.
Type in your prompt, no special commands needed, just say whatever’s on your mind.
Validate the app plan.
Let it build! You can tweak it with natural language.
Some real world use cases can also include:
Learn While Building: Ask “Why are we using Flask?” and get an explanation mid-project.
Database Setups Made Easy: Quickly spin up Postgres, MongoDB, or other databases.
Generate Documentation: Documenting code or APIs is important for future use but can be tedious to write.
🔥 Pro Tip: You can even deploy your app right from Replit once you want to share it with the world!
